When women thrive,
communities thrive.
An urban garden where women, nature, and cross-cultural connection grow side by side.
Growing community in urban spaces.
RAW (Resilient Aspiring Women) is a non for profit organisation in Brighton, Melbourne. Since 2012 we have nurtured a vibrant environment that celebrates women and cross-cultural connections through nature, art, food, gardening, sharing stories, and creative group work.
What began as a single garden has become a living, breathing space to learn from one another, heal, and grow. Every plant, every shared meal, every story told here is an act of connection.
RAW is run entirely by volunteers, and we grow through the hands and hearts of our community. There is a place here for everyone who wants to give a little time.
What we do
Connect
We create a vibrant space where community members can meet, belong, and bond through shared activities: gardening, storytelling, women's circles, and celebrations that bring cultures together.
Grow
We nurture, educate, and mentor women, supporting empowerment and resilience while strengthening cross-cultural understanding through workshops, mentoring, and hands-on learning.
Sustain
We are building a resilient, well-resourced organisation so this space can flourish for years to come, and reach more women and more of the community.
At the heart of RAW is our garden, including a sensory garden and urban farm. It is the backdrop to everything we do:
A calm, grounding place open to the community.
Come and sit, plant, harvest, or simply be.
